Daniel was using a tree branch for a crutch as he hobbled over to where his friend was standing.
"Jack. I need a favor."
"What is it?"
"The rock I was holding when you found me?"
"Don't tell me you want it."
"I do."
"It's a rock!"
"Jack...."
"Yeah, okay. I'll get it."
"Thanks."

Jack heard voices from inside Daniel's office. Out of curiosity he paused to listen.
"So that's the famous rock!"
Daniel looked up from his work and saw Sam holding the rock that had been sitting on his desk.
"Yes. That's it."
"You were going to try to defend yourself with it?"
"It's all I could find at the moment."
"Why did you bring it back with you?"
"I don't really know. A gut feeling maybe. I just needed it with me. I'd be sitting here working and I'd look up
and see it and know that it could have saved me," Daniel explained.
"A rock could have saved you against reanimated terrorists?"
"Yeah, I know it isn't logical..."
"You don't have to explaine it to me, Daniel. The Colonel, on the other hand is still puzzled by it."
"He'll get over it. He always does. It's just another thing I've collected. In a couple of months, he won't even
remember where I got it!"
Sam laughed. "Yeah, you're probably right. I'd better get going. I've got to pick up some test results. Oh, how's
the leg?"
"Getting better."
"I'll see you later."
After Sam left, Jack stepped out of the shadows.
"This time, I won't forget, Danny," he whispered and went on his way.
